Early Career Teachers’ positive views of induction are associated with a number of common enabling factors. These include the importance of having a balanced package of support, typically involving a standardised training programme alongside more personalised, teacher-led opportunities.
ConnectED’s NQT programme reflects the development needs expressed by inexperienced teachers and aims to build their confidence in key areas of professional practice.
‘Flight Paths for Your Future in Teaching: Planning the Next Steps’ will support NQTs to consider progression in teaching. It will provide opportunities for participants to:
- Explore the range of leadership roles available in primary schools
- Discuss ways of preparing for and managing additional responsibilities
- Consider leadership dispositions, qualities & skills
- Understand what is involved in leading and managing others
