Early Career Teachers’ positive views of induction are associated with a number of common enabling factors. These include the importance of having a balanced package of support, typically involving a standardised training programme alongside more personalised, teacher-led opportunities.
ConnectED’s NQT programme reflects the development needs expressed by inexperienced teachers and aims to build their confidence in key areas of professional practice.
‘Effective & Engaging Strategies for Progress in KS2 Maths’ will support NQTs in developing their own subject knowledge in Math as well as looking at effective and engaging strategies for progress, including the CPA approach.
We will look at the three main aims: fluency, reasoning and problem solving, as well as considering progression and assessment (formative and summative). There will also be a session on planning and delegates are invited to bring relevant planning documents and a copy of the National Curriculum so they can access these when planning a chosen maths area.
